What to expect
Murrayfield Stadium is west of Haymarket. On international days the roads around it close and the trams and buses are packed before and after the game, so the closer you stay, the easier the day.
The tram stops at Murrayfield Stadium and runs straight through Haymarket, Princes Street, the New Town and Leith, so you can stay further out and still get there without changing.
